Job summary

Argyle House Camden is seeking a results-driven General Manager to lead our premium steakhouse and events venue in Camden, NSW. You will own daily operations, drive commercial performance and ensure exceptional guest experiences.

Reporting to the Directors, you will translate strategy into priorities, manage budgets, lead a multidisciplinary team, and uphold food safety and service standards across all functions.

Qualifications

• Substantial GM or senior hospitality leadership experience.
• Experience in premium, high-volume restaurant, hotel, club or events venue.
• Proven responsibility for profit and loss, budgets, labour and revenue targets.
• Ability to make sound executive decisions under pressure.
• Strong leadership of multidisciplinary hospitality teams.
• Track record of improving guest satisfaction and service standards.
• Experience delivering restaurant services, private functions and major events.
• Strong financial understanding and commercial judgement.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Current NSW Responsible Service of Alcohol certification and Australian working rights.

Responsibilities

• Provide visible, hands-on leadership and ownership of daily performance.
• Translate strategy into priorities and elevate the Argyle House brand.
• Manage venue P&L and deliver revenue, labour, cost targets.
• Prepare budgets, forecasts and performance reports; analyse key metrics.
• Set premium service standards and maintain floor presence during services.
• Monitor guest experience and resolve serious complaints with judgment.
• Lead recruitment, onboarding, training, rosters and performance reviews.
• Oversee private dining, weddings, corporate functions and events.
• Ensure NSW licensing, safety, and food safety compliance.
• Ensure accurate use of POS, rostering, payroll and reporting systems.
