Job summary

Howmet Aerospace Inc. in Melbourne seeks a Production Operator to set up and operate manufacturing equipment, ensuring output meets safety and quality requirements. You will perform machine setups, monitor operations, and complete documentation in accordance with SOPs.

The role requires a Certificate III in Process Manufacturing (desirable) and experience in tool manufacturing or metal fabrication. Strong attention to detail and effective communication, plus the ability to navigate manufacturing

Qualifications

• Mechanical aptitude and ability to set parameters on manufacturing equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and accurate documentation.
• Good communication skills (verbal and written).
• Willingness to develop skills and work across multiple processes.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate and monitor manufacturing equipment.
• Perform machine setups including insert forming, wire rollers and injection moulders.
• Achieve production targets with safety and quality compliance.
• Conduct handovers to ensure continuous production.
• Carry out routine maintenance and handle non-standard issues with maintenance team.
• Maintain clean and safe workspace; participate in 3S/6S and Kaizen events.
• Assist training of other Production Operators.
• Maintain tooling stock and assist in cycle counting and stock control.
• Report safety incidents and environmental hazards and use PPE as required.
