Job summary

Macintyre Pty Ltd in Inglewood, QLD, is seeking a Skilled Meat Worker to join its hands-on production team. You will slaughter, bone, slice and trim to exact customer specifications while upholding food safety and yield targets.

This full-time role requires knife skills, stamina in a chilled environment and reliable teamwork. A minimum AQF Certificate III in Meat Processing and 2–3 years of meat processing experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum AQF Certificate III in Meat Processing (or an equivalent recognised qualification).
• Demonstrated two to three years' experience as a butcher, slaughterer, boner or smallgoods producer.
• Experience in abattoir or meat processing environments preferred.
• Sound knowledge of HACCP, hygiene and food safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Carry out slaughtering, dressing and butchering duties according to work instructions and safety standards.
• Break down carcasses into primal, sub-primal and portioned cuts to meet specifications and yields.
• Perform boning, slicing, trimming and seaming tasks with precision to minimise waste and maximise yield.
• Maintain and handle knives, hooks, saws and processing equipment safely and reporting faults.
• Inspect meat products for defects and report any issues to supervisors promptly.
• Assist with packaging, vacuum sealing, weighing, labeling and palletising of finished product.
