Job summary

Collier & Miller in Griffith, NSW, Australia, is seeking an experienced Qualified Machinist to join our engineering team. You will manufacture precision components, repair machinery and tackle diverse engineering projects in a modern workshop.

You’ll operate lathes, milling machines and drilling equipment, read drawings, measure to tight tolerances and diagnose faults in hydraulic systems and motors, supporting apprentices and maintaining safety in a busy workshop.

• Experience operating lathes, milling machines and other machining equipment
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
• Strong measuring skills and attention to detail

Responsibilities

• Manufacturing new and customised components using lathes, milling machines and drilling equipment
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications
• Measuring, machining and finishing components to required specifications and tolerances
• Diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs to hydraulic cylinders, motors and associated components
• Working on custom machining, maintenance and repair projects
• Using and maintaining workshop machinery, tools and equipment safely and effectively
• Supporting apprentices and junior team members where required
• Maintaining a clean, organised and safe work environment
