Job summary

Tweed Shire Council in Murwillumbah is seeking a detail‑oriented concreting and general labourer to carry out advanced concreting duties across roads, bridges, drainage and other public works.

You will work safely, read plans, take‑off quantities, hold a valid White Card and Class C licence, participate in team meetings, and benefit from a 76‑hour 9‑day fortnight, 12% super, and training opportunities.

Qualifications

• Year 10 level literacy and numeracy are required for reading plans and basic calculations.
• Ability to apply practical skills across concrete construction and maintenance.
• Reading plans and taking off quantities with accuracy.
• Current Class C (Car) Driver Licence and a General Construction Induction Card (White Card).

Responsibilities

• Carry out advanced concreting duties and general labouring tasks across construction and maintenance projects.
• Work on civil works including roads, bridges, drainage, footpaths, kerb and guttering, water and sewer pipelines.
• Apply technical knowledge to select materials and ensure compliance with Australian Standards and regulations.
• Operate safely, efficiently and environmentally responsibly on all worksites.
• Participate in team meetings to support a collaborative and productive work environment.
