UCentric is partnering with a global cloud and technology consulting organisation to appoint a Pre-Sales Architect (Cloud Migration/Modernisation).

This is a senior consulting opportunity for an experienced cloud architect who enjoys solving complex technology challenges, shaping enterprise cloud strategies and helping customers translate ambitious transformation goals into practical, achievable solutions.

Working closely with Public Sector customers, you'll operate at the intersection of technical architecture, consulting and pre-sales. You'll engage with senior technical and C-level stakeholders to understand business challenges, develop solution strategies and architect secure, scalable cloud solutions that deliver measurable business outcomes.

This role is ideal for someone who can operate strategically while remaining technically credible — someone who can move comfortably from executive-level conversations into detailed solution design and technical discussions.

About the role:

You will work closely with customers to understand their business objectives, technical requirements and transformation priorities, developing cloud strategies and solution architectures that support migration, modernisation and broader digital transformation initiatives.

You'll act as the technical conduit between account teams and delivery teams, ensuring proposed solutions are realistic, achievable and aligned with customer outcomes.

A key component of the role will be engaging customers around emerging technologies, including Agentic AI and Generative AI, and helping them understand where these technologies can create genuine business value.

You'll also contribute to strategic technology direction, build strong relationships with senior stakeholders and help customers become advocates for cloud adoption.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and lead technical solution designs aligned to customer business outcomes.
• Act as a trusted technical advisor on cloud migration, modernisation and emerging technologies.
• Partner with account teams, sales teams and delivery teams to develop outcome-based technical proposals.
• Engage with C-level executives and senior technical stakeholders to influence strategic technology initiatives.
• Define technology strategies for customers undertaking cloud adoption, transformation, migration and optimisation programs.
• Assess customer challenges, use cases and requirements and translate them into scalable, secure and commercially viable cloud solutions.
• Work directly with customers exploring Agentic AI and Generative AI use cases.
• Develop proof-of-concept solutions that demonstrate the potential of emerging AI technologies.
• Ensure proposed solutions align with enterprise architecture, security and cloud best practices.
• Act as an executive technical sponsor for strategic customer initiatives.
• Ensure solutions are achievable and capable of delivering the intended business outcomes.
• Capture and share technical best practices, sales content and delivery knowledge across the wider consulting organisation.
• Mentor colleagues and contribute to the development of technical capability across the practice.

Key Qualifications:

• 7+ years' experience across technical architecture, solution design or technical consulting.
• 3+ years' experience designing and delivering cloud-based solutions across AWS or equivalent platforms.
• Proven experience providing technical leadership across large-scale, complex technology programs.
• Strong experience influencing C-level executives, senior business stakeholders and technical leadership.
• Experience driving enterprise-scale portfolios or programs within large organisations.
• Strong understanding of cloud architecture across areas including compute, storage, networking, security, databases, machine learning and serverless technologies.
• Experience working within a pre-sales, solution consulting or professional services environment.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business value.
• Experience working with Public Sector customers, ideally within Federal Government, Defence or National Security environments.

Highly Regarded

• AWS Professional-level certification such as Solutions Architect Professional or DevOps Engineer Professional.
• Advanced technology degree.
• Experience with modern cloud architecture and enterprise transformation.
• Experience with software development lifecycle and Agile / iterative methodologies.
• Certifications across AWS, Agile, Scrum, SAFe or similar.
• Hands-on experience with Agentic AI, Generative AI or other emerging technologies.
• Experience developing proof-of-concept solutions and demonstrating new technology capabilities to customers.

Security Clearance:

This position requires the successful candidate to hold, or be able to attain, Australian Government security clearance.
