Job summary

Buildability Group in Sydney seeks an experienced Pre-Construction Project Manager to join its NSW pre-construction team. You will shape projects from feasibility through to construction handover, working closely with clients, consultants and delivery teams to drive value early in the lifecycle.

Lead ECI opportunities, design management and risk reviews while ensuring buildable, commercially viable projects.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience in a Project Engineer or Project Management capacity.
• Construction/site experience is essential.
• Experience within pre-construction, design management or ECI is highly advantageous.
• Strong understanding of the Australian construction industry.
• Sound understanding of construction methodologies, buildability and project risk.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Commercial acumen with the ability to understand cost, risk and value.

Responsibilities

• Manage ECI opportunities from feasibility to handover.
• Collaborate with clients, consultants, subcontractors, estimators and construction teams.
• Lead design management, reviews and design development.
• Identify risks, opportunities and value engineering initiatives.
• Develop construction methodologies, staging and preliminary programs.

THE ROLE

You will be responsible for managing and contributing to ECI and pre-construction opportunities, providing project and design management expertise while ensuring projects are commercially viable, buildable and set up for successful delivery.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Managing ECI opportunities from feasibility/inception through to delivery team handover
• Working closely with clients, consultants, subcontractors, estimators and construction teams
• Leading design management, design reviews and design development
• Identifying project risks, opportunities and value engineering initiatives
• Developing construction methodologies, staging and preliminary programs
• Reviewing designs with a strong focus on buildability, cost efficiency and risk mitigation
• Managing consultants, subcontractors and early procurement packages
• Coordinating site investigations and early works
• Contributing to ECI submissions, tenders, presentations and client proposals
• Supporting the development of long-term client relationships
• Ensuring a thorough and effective handover from pre-construction into delivery

WHAT THEY'RE LOOKING FOR
