Job summary

Anglicare Victoria’s Orange Door team in Cranbourne is seeking a Practitioner to provide specialist services to perpetrators and families. The role is primarily phone/system-based, focusing on risk assessment, engagement and initial response within an integrated team.

You’ll work across South Metro Orange Door sites, with possible travel to Dandenong and Pakenham. Full-time fixed-term to 31 December 2027, 9am–5pm, supported by Practice Leaders; benefits include Well Worth It, Fitness Passport,

Qualifications

  • Minimum MMQ: Bachelor’s, Graduate Certificate or Master’s Degree required; Diploma holders must pursue higher study within 10 years.
  • Experience with perpetrators of violence and family violence, with a whole-family approach preferred.
  • Knowledge of MARAM knowledge would be highly regarded.

  • Provide specialist support with risk assessment, engagement and initial response.
  • Screening & triage, crisis responses, service planning and targeted interventions.
  • Coordinate referrals and allocations in collaboration with the Hub.
  • Participate in case conferences and inter-agency collaboration to resolve issues.

Job description

The Position

The Orange Door Practitioners will work as part of an integrated team to provide specialist support to perpetrators, adults, children and young people who are experiencing or have experienced family violence and families who need extra support with the care of children. Anglicare Victoria staff will be responsible for the provision of services to Men/Perpetrators.

As a Practitioner you will support people with advice with a focus on risk assessment, engagement, and provision of an initial response and as a source of information to people referred to the Hub.

You will join the team at The Orange Door Cranbourne. This role will work as part of an integrated team to provide specialist services to Adults Using Violence referred to The Orange Door.

This is primarily a phone-based role or system based role, where your practice skills are applied through conversation, risk assessment, planning and consult. You will work collaboratively as part of an integrated practice approach to respond to family violence and children and family vulnerability concerns through the provision of:

  • Screening and triage, assessment, crisis responses, service planning, targeted interventions;
  • Allocation services and coordination of referrals;
  • Collaborative working with the Hub team to support integrated risk assessment and planning, including participating in case conferences, meetings and the resolution of stakeholder issues.

Location and travel requirements:

This position is to work in Adult Using Family Violence specialisation. At this stage it is based at Cranbourne but might be expected to work across South Metro Area of the Orange Door including Dandenong and Pakenham sites.

The skills you will use day to day:
  • Experience working with perpetrators of violence, men / fathers.
  • Working through an intersectional lens.
  • The ability to work with children and families and/or family violence where there are complex needs and risk issues.
  • Resilience to work with and support clients who have been exposed to trauma.
  • The ability to identify, assess and prioritise risks and needs of clients in a whole of family approach.
  • Assessment skills, L17 referrals, Best Interests Case Practice Model and MARAM knowledge would be highly regarded.

Mandatory Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degrees, Graduate Certificates, and Master’s Degrees are required to work at The Orange Door. If you hold a Diploma, then you will need to complete further study and complete a higher level of education within the next 10 years.
