Job summary

Hunter Philips Executive Search is seeking experienced Power System Engineers for opportunities across Australia’s power and energy sector. You will provide technical solutions, model and analyze network systems, and support multiple projects from planning through to interconnection.

You will work with leading clients, applying advanced software tools, presenting results, and maintaining strong client relationships across projects and proposals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level or higher degree in Electrical Engineering and relevant professional experience.
• Demonstrated expertise in power system analysis for grid connection, generation, transmission and distribution in Australia.
• Advanced proficiency with power system software (PSS Sincal, PSS/E, DigSILENT, Python, PowerFactory, ETAP, PSCAD).
• Proven project management experience and ability to deliver across multiple projects.
• Knowledge of planning and connection studies, including load flow and fault analysis.
• Strong attention to detail, organisational and time management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication to present technical results to clients.
• Proactive, innovative mindset focused on delivering client outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Provide support across multiple Australian power projects.
• Conduct studies using power system analysis tools for network planning, protection, and interconnection.
• Develop models for generation, loads, and BESS in line with regulations.
• Define plans, budgets and risks for clients and stakeholders.
• Support sales team with technical insight for client discussions.
• Generate reports and studies for network service providers (e.g., AEMO).
• Assist project managers and bid coordinators in preparing proposals to win work.
