Job summary

APA is seeking an Engineering Manager – Power to lead the Infrastructure Engineering team in Perth, WA. This role drives technical leadership across a portfolio of gas-fired power projects, from feasibility through to commissioning, while mentoring others and aligning with APA’s objectives and customer needs.

The successful candidate will balance risk, cost, and schedule, coordinate with consultants, OEMs and vendors, and ensure compliance with Australian and international standards and health

Qualifications

• Engineering degree and eligibility for Engineers Australia or equivalent.
• Experience in gas-fired power generation project development, design and delivery (Owners’ Engineer/EPC context).
• Strong technical judgement and problem-solving abilities balancing risk, cost and timelines.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering activities across complex infrastructure or energy projects.
• Knowledge of Australian and international standards plus EH&S legislation.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering leadership from feasibility to construction and commissioning.
• Lead early-stage project input including opportunity assessments, site selection and concept development.
• Coordinate design, equipment selection, and construction activities with project teams and vendors.
• Mentor and develop junior engineers, promoting collaboration across disciplines.
• Ensure quality, safety and regulatory compliance in all engineering deliverables.
