Job summary

WSP Global Inc. is seeking an experienced Project Manager to deliver major power infrastructure projects across Australia, including transmission, distribution and substations, renewables and power generation.

Based in Sydney, Newcastle, Brisbane or Adelaide, you’ll lead multidisciplinary teams and manage projects from planning through close-out. You will balance technical, commercial and client-facing aspects, build strong client relationships, and contribute to a growing national pipeline

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Project Management or allied field, or equivalent industry experience.
• Approximately 4+ years’ experience in engineering, infrastructure or project delivery environments.
• Demonstrated PM experience in power, energy, utilities or major infrastructure.
• Experience delivering transmission, distribution, substations or other complex electrical infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of the project lifecycle: planning, design, procurement, delivery, commissioning and close-out.
• Experience managing budgets, programmes, forecasts, project controls, risks and commercial outcomes.
• Strong commercial awareness and understanding of technical delivery vs. financial performance.
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary engineering teams, consultants, contractors and other stakeholders.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead multidisciplinary teams delivering transmission, distribution and substation, renewables and power generation projects.
• Manage projects across the full lifecycle, from proposals through engineering, delivery and close-out.
• Develop and manage project scope, budgets, schedules, forecasts and resourcing plans.
• Monitor project financial performance, including costs, margins, invoicing, cash flow and forecasting.
• Manage project risks, changes and commercial matters, identifying issues early and driving practical solutions.
• Coordinate engineering, design, project controls, procurement and other disciplines to support delivery.
• Establish project governance, reporting, quality and safety requirements.
• Build strong relationships with clients and act as a key point of contact.
• Support contract negotiations, scope development, proposals and commercial discussions.
• Work with technical leads to ensure engineering deliverables meet requirements.
• Coordinate internal resources, specialist expertise, suppliers and subcontractors as needed.
• Provide clear project reporting on programme, budget, risk, scope and performance.
• Support lessons learned and close-out activities to improve delivery.
• Contribute to growth of WSP’s Power & Energy business in Australia.
