Job summary

WorkPac is seeking a Powder Coater for a Western Australian based powder coating facility in Wangara. The role covers surface preparation, coating application, curing processes and quality checks to ensure a premium finish on metal components.

You will operate powder coating equipment, select powders, monitor temperatures, and optimise processes. A Monday–Friday roster and competitive pay reflect your experience and commitment to safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Powder coating experience mandatory.
• Valid Driver's Licence with reliable transport.
• High-risk forklift licence is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare metal components for powder coating by cleaning, sanding, masking and surface treatment.
• Operate powder coating equipment and select powder type, colour and settings to meet project specs.
• Load/unload parts from ovens, monitor curing times and temperatures for consistent finish.
• Maintain booths, guns and ovens; report faults and safety concerns; support packaging and dispatch.

Job details

Powder Coater

• $35 - $50 per hour based on experience
• Monday to Friday roster
• 6am 2/3pm

What You Will Be Doing

• Responsible for preparing metal components for powder coating through cleaning, sanding, grinding, masking, and other surface treatment processes. Operate powder coating equipment and select the appropriate powder type, colour, and application settings to meet project specifications. Load and unload products from curing ovens while monitoring temperatures and curing times to achieve a consistent, high-quality finish.
• Conduct quality inspections to ensure coating thickness, colour, finish, and overall presentation meet required standards. Identify and rectify coating defects through touch-ups and rework where necessary, while reading and following job sheets, work orders, and coating specifications. Monitor powder usage and minimise material waste throughout the coating process.
• Maintain powder coating booths, spray guns, curing ovens, and associated equipment, reporting faults, quality issues, and safety concerns to supervisors. Follow all workplace health and safety procedures, including appropriate PPE and safe chemical handling, while maintaining a clean and organised work area. Assist with the safe handling, packing, and dispatch of completed products to support an efficient production workflow.
