Job summary

Ellerslie Farms Group in Queensland seeks a dedicated poultry production contributor to support safe, efficient egg production and welfare across rotating shifts in a rural setting. You will work within a cohesive team to maintain high standards of animal care and hygiene across the operation.

Applicants should hold a Bachelor degree in agriculture/animal science or poultry and have at least 2 years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in agriculture, animal science, poultry or equivalent is highly regarded.
• Experience with poultry rearing systems is highly regarded.
• At least 2 years in medium to large commercial poultry production is essential.
• Caring attitude towards poultry livestock and compliance with legislation and standards.
• Willingness to undertake further study and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily feed, water, temperature and welfare checks in poultry sheds.
• Handle, identify and inspect poultry.
• Maintain productivity and ensure bird husbandry meets company standards.
• Maintain quality control and pursue continuous improvement.
• Comply with Animal Welfare and good stock practices.
• Participate in training and apply learned skills.
• Complete all required documentation.
• Communicate effectively with business partners daily.
