Job summary

Ellerslie Farms Group is hiring for a hands-on farm role in Millmerran, Queensland. You will work on a rotating roster to ensure the safe operation of equipment and maintain clean, efficient sheds across poultry operations.

Responsibilities include manure removal, shed maintenance, defect reporting, and strict biosecurity adherence. Experience in poultry or agriculture is preferred; candidates must have a valid HR/HC license or related experience.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on work ethic in a rural farming setting.
• Ability to follow strict biosecurity and safety procedures.
• Good communication and issue reporting abilities.
• Experience or exposure to poultry or agriculture preferred.

Responsibilities

• Remove manure from sheds using designated equipment.
• Clean and maintain shed surrounds after manure removal.
• Inspect manure quality and report findings to Farm Manager.
• Identify causes of wet manure and report leaks in drinkers.
• Report leaking drinker nipples with location details.
• Monitor manure belts for tension and operation; report faults.
• Perform basic maintenance checks on manure trucks and record actions.
• Keep manure truck cabins clean and weekly wash/vacuum.
• Adhere to animal welfare standards when handling birds.
• Report equipment faults to Farm Manager or Maintenance Supervisor.
• Follow quarantine and biosecurity standards across the farm.
