Job summary

McLean Farms in Australia is seeking a Poultry Maintenance Person for a hands-on, six-month term contract to support our laying operations. You will maintain farm equipment and facilities and help run day-to-day poultry site activities.

Reporting to the Poultry Maintenance Manager, you will perform repairs, inspect systems, and assist poultry teams, while upholding biosecurity and animal welfare standards. This role offers ongoing training and a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Previous maintenance experience in agriculture, poultry, or similar industry.
• Solid mechanical aptitude with troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Commitment to workplace safety, biosecurity and animal welfare.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repairs on farm equipment and infrastructure.
• Maintain feeding, watering, ventilation, and climate control systems.

Looking for a hands-on maintenance role in a fast-paced agricultural environment? McLean Farms is seeking a Poultry Maintenance Person to support our laying operations. This is a 6-month term contract with the possibility of extension for the right candidate.

About the Role

Reporting to the Poultry Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining farm equipment and facilities while supporting the daily operation of our poultry sites.

Key responsibilities include:

• Performing maintenance and repairs on farm equipment and infrastructure
• Maintaining feeding, watering, ventilation, and climate control systems
• Conducting routine inspections and preventative maintenance
• Responding to breakdowns and maintenance requests
• Assisting poultry teams with operational tasks when required
• Supporting biosecurity, animal welfare, and workplace safety standards
• Maintaining maintenance records and reporting issues as require

About You

• Previous maintenance experience, preferably in agriculture, poultry, or a similar industry
• Sound mechanical aptitude with troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Commitment to workplace safety, biosecurity, and animal welfare
• Reliable, proactive, and willing to assist across a variety of tasks
