Job summary

Precision Poultry Pty Ltd in New South Wales is seeking an experienced Poultry Farm Manager or Assistant Poultry Farm Manager to oversee daily farm operations in Tabbita, NSW. The role focuses on animal health, welfare, housing and equipment, while driving production targets and efficient use of resources.

The successful candidate will supervise a farm workforce, coordinate feeding, vaccination and biosecurity programs, and monitor performance data to support continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree or equivalent, or at least 3 years related & relevant experience.
• Strong understanding of poultry management practices, including animal health, nutrition, housing and equipment.
• Demonstrated ability to supervise and motivate a team of farm workers.
• Proficient in data analysis and the use of farm management software.
• Excellent problem-solving, decision-making and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and supervise poultry production and daily farming activities.
• Monitor bird health, welfare, nutrition and environmental conditions and take corrective action.
• Oversee feeding programs, vaccination and medication schedules and other poultry husbandry requirements.
• Maintain and enforce farm biosecurity, hygiene and animal welfare procedures.
• Monitor production performance and analyse flock, mortality, feed consumption and other data.
• Assist with production planning and the achievement of farm performance targets.
• Monitor shed conditions, housing, feeding/watering systems, ventilation, and other equipment.
• Coordinate maintenance and repairs to farm infrastructure and equipment.
• Maintain accurate production, livestock, health, treatment, biosecurity and operational records.
• Identify production or operational issues and implement approved improvements.
• Assist with budgeting, stock control, purchasing and efficient use of farm resources.
• Contribute to development and implementation of longer-term farm plans.
