Job summary

Accenture in Ballarat is seeking an experienced Database Administrator to join the Infrastructure Managed Services team. You will manage PostgreSQL environments, perform performance tuning, backups and recovery, and support cross‑platform workloads including SQL Server.

This hands‑on role requires strong Linux skills, the ability to troubleshoot complex issues, and collaboration with application and infrastructure teams.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of database administration experience.
• Strong PostgreSQL administration with replication and vacuuming.
• Solid Linux admin skills (RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu) and shell scripting.
• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server and Always On is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and manage PostgreSQL environments.
• Monitor performance and resolve bottlenecks.
• Design backup and recovery strategies.
• Administer Linux systems supporting DB workloads.
• Provide Level 2/3 support for PostgreSQL and SQL Server.
• Collaborate with applications and infrastructure teams on design.
• Contribute to disaster recovery planning and testing.
