Latrobe Regional Health is seeking a Registered Nurse (Postgraduate Midwifery Student) for a part-time fixed-term two-year role with potential extension. You will support maternity care in the Thomson Unit while undertaking a postgraduate qualification in midwifery.

The position provides hands-on maternity experience in a supportive learning environment, with development opportunities and a focus on patient and family outcomes in a regional hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Current Division 1 Registered Nurse with AHPRA registration.
• Enrolment in Federation University Graduate Diploma of Midwifery or equivalent.
• Recent clinical nursing experience and good communication.
• Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team and deliver quality care.
• Commitment to professional development and patient care excellence.
• Flexible to work all rostered shifts and learn midwifery skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, person-centred nursing care per standards and policies.
• Undertake all academic and clinical requirements for the Graduate Diploma of Midwifery.
• Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop care plans with the team.
• Contribute to a safe environment supporting women, babies, families and staff.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families and health professionals.
• Engage in ongoing learning and quality improvement activities.
