Job summary

Ability Action Australia in Adelaide is seeking a Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner to deliver person-centred services to NDIS participants. You will work with a diverse, multidisciplinary team to implement and review behaviour support plans in varied settings.

The role focuses on reducing restrictive practices, setting meaningful goals and supporting families and caregivers to apply strategies effectively.

Qualifications

• Strong report writing, assessment and documentation skills.
• Excellent time management and organisational abilities.
• Ability to manage a varied caseload while maintaining high-quality participant outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Conduct functional behavioural assessments and develop person-centred behaviour support plans.
• Deliver evidence-based Positive Behaviour Support services to NDIS participants and their support networks.
• Develop, implement and review behaviour support plans within complex support environments.
• Work collaboratively to reduce and eliminate restrictive practices in line with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission framework.
• Set meaningful goals and develop practical strategies that build participant capacity and independence.
• Support families, carers and support teams to confidently implement behaviour support strategies.
• Collaborate closely with Occupational Therapists, Speech Pathologists and other stakeholders to achieve positive participant outcomes.
• Mentor and support junior Behaviour Support Practitioners where appropriate.
