Portfolio Director – Multi-Site Early Childhood Leadership

Job summary

Mini Masterminds is seeking an experienced Portfolio Director to provide strategic leadership across our portfolio of early learning centres. You will drive performance, growth and quality education while championing child safety and staff development.

Reporting to the Area Manager, you will collaborate with Centre Directors, Educational Leaders and central support to deliver consistent, high-quality outcomes for children and families across the portfolio.

Qualifications

• Diploma of ECEC or higher required; one year of holding the qualification preferred.
• At least three years of leadership experience in the early childhood education sector.
• Current Working with Children Check, First Aid, Anaphylaxis and CPR certifications.
• Approved child protection qualification and current child safety training.
• Strong knowledge of the NQF, National Law and Regulations, child safety requirements and educational quality standards.
• Experience leading, coaching and developing teams across multiple services.
• Strong commercial acumen including occupancy growth, budgeting, wage management and operational performance.

Responsibilities

• Lead and inspire Centre Directors and leadership teams to foster accountability and continuous improvement.
• Champion educational excellence with play-based, child-centred learning aligned to NQF/NQS and approved frameworks.
• Prioritise child safety with strong compliance across all services.
• Drive day-to-day operational performance across multiple centres.
• Grow occupancy and enrolments by developing and executing retention and conversion strategies.
• Manage budgets, wage costs and expenditure to improve efficiency and profitability without compromising quality.
• Enhance family experience through strong partnerships and feedback-driven improvements.
• Lead change and implement initiatives to strengthen centre performance and consistency.
