At Transgrid, we’re powering Australia’s energy future. As the owner and operator of Australia’s largest electricity transmission network, we connect renewable energy to homes and businesses, keep the lights on for millions of Australians, and play a leading role in the transition to a cleaner, more sustainable energy system. Join us to work on projects that matter, make a lasting impact, and help shape the future of energy for generations to come.

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Portfolio Delivery Manager to lead the successful delivery of a portfolio of strategic business and technology initiatives within our Technology & Transformation division. This is a senior leadership role responsible for driving complex transformation programs, business process improvements, technology uplifts and enterprise-wide change initiatives that support Transgrid's strategic objectives.

As the primary delivery partner to business stakeholders, you will oversee the end-to-end delivery lifecycle across multiple programs and projects, ensuring outcomes are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with agreed scope, budget, timeline and quality expectations. You'll lead high-performing teams, navigate competing priorities, manage cross-portfolio dependencies and help shape the evolution of delivery practices across the organisation

Working closely with Technology Business Partners, Enterprise Architecture, PMO, Cyber, Data & AI, Change Management and senior business leaders, you will play a key role in enabling successful transformation outcomes that deliver measurable value across the business.

What you'll do

Lead the delivery of a portfolio of strategic business and technology initiatives, ensuring projects achieve agreed outcomes across scope, budget, timeline and quality.

Provide leadership, coaching and development to Project Managers and delivery teams, fostering a high-performance and continuous improvement culture.

Build strong relationships with business leaders and act as the primary delivery interface for stakeholders across your portfolio.

Manage cross-functional dependencies, delivery risks and competing priorities to maintain delivery momentum and maximise business value.

Drive effective governance, reporting, financial management and benefits realisation across the portfolio while ensuring compliance with enterprise standards and regulatory requirements.

Partner with architecture, cyber, operations and vendor teams to ensure solutions are delivered effectively and transitioned successfully into business operations.

Contribute to enterprise-wide delivery capability uplift by influencing governance frameworks, methodologies and operating model improvements.

What you'll bring

Demonstrated experience leading large portfolios of technology, transformation and business change initiatives within complex enterprise environments.

Proven leadership experience managing and developing high-performing delivery teams, including senior project managers and program leaders.

Strong expertise in portfolio management, governance, financial management, benefits realisation and delivery assurance.

Experience engaging with senior executives and influencing stakeholders across multiple business functions.

Strong understanding of Agile, Waterfall and hybrid delivery methodologies, with the ability to apply the right approach for the environment.

Experience managing delivery partners, vendors and complex stakeholder ecosystems.

Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology, Business, Engineering or a related discipline. PMP, MSP, SAFe or similar certifications will be highly regarded.

Why this role?

This is a unique opportunity to lead a significant portfolio of strategic initiatives at a time of transformation and growth. You'll have the opportunity to influence enterprise-wide delivery outcomes, shape investment priorities and work closely with leaders across the business to deliver meaningful change.

You will join a collaborative leadership team focused on driving operational excellence, innovation and sustainable business outcomes. Your work will directly contribute to Transgrid's technology and transformation journey while supporting the delivery of critical infrastructure that underpins Australia's energy future.
