Job summary

Crystalbrook Riley, Cairns, is seeking a Porter to welcome guests, assist with luggage and help ensure arrivals and departures run smoothly. You’ll work closely with Front Office, bring a personal touch to every interaction and uphold the luxury standards expected by our guests.

This permanent part-time role offers 16–24 hours per week on a seven-day roster. We value warmth, reliability and a collaborative mindset, with opportunities to learn and grow within a vibrant hospitality team and

Qualifications

• Warm, welcoming manner and ability to connect with guests.
• Proactive, reliable team player who stays calm during busy periods.
• Comfortable with physical tasks including luggage handling and standing for long shifts.
• Willing to rotate across weekends and public holidays.
• Previous porter/guest services experience is valued but not required.

The Opportunity:

As a Porter, you’ll help set the tone for an exceptional stay, welcoming guests with warmth, assisting with luggage and ensuring arrivals and departures run smoothly. Working closely with the Front Office team, you’ll anticipate guests’ needs, offer thoughtful assistance and bring a personal touch to every interaction.

This is a permanent part-time opportunity, offering 16–24 hours per week across a seven-day roster.

The Talent:

We are seeking a Porter who brings a genuine passion for people and service. Previous experience in a similar role is ideal; however, it is not essential. We value attitude, curiosity and a genuine interest in hospitality and tourism, and are proud to support the development of team members who are eager to learn and grow with us.

• A warm, welcoming manner, strong communication skills and a natural ability to connect with guests
• A proactive, reliable team player who stays calm and attentive during busy periods
• Comfortable with the physical demands of the role, including safely handling luggage and being on your feet throughout your shift
• Flexibility to work a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays
• Professional presentation and a genuine commitment to delivering service that reflects a luxury hotel standard
• Previous experience in a porter, valet or guest services role within a hotel or luxury environment is highly regarded
