Job summary

Australian Amalgamated Terminals (AAT) in Port Kembla is seeking Casual Yard Operators to join our operations team. You will perform forklift operations across the terminal yard, lash and unl ash cargo, and load/ restrain cargo in line with CoR and load restraint requirements.

The role requires a current LF forklift licence, strong safety focus, and flexibility to work varied shifts including weekends. MSIC or willingness to obtain one is preferred, along with reliable transport to Port Kembla.

Qualifications

• Current forklift licence (LF) with hands-on experience.
• Understanding of Chain of Responsibility (CoR) obligations under HVNL.
• Physically fit and able to perform repetitive manual work.
• Strong safety focus and ability to follow procedures in a live port.
• Reliable, punctual and a good team player.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends.
• MSIC or willingness to obtain one.
• Reliable transport to Port Kembla.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts across the terminal yard.
• Lash and unlash cargo according to CoR.
• Load and restrain cargo to secure standards.
• Keep yards, wharf and work areas clean and safe.
• Assist with cargo receival, delivery and yard movements.
• Perform other general terminal tasks as directed.
• Work safely around vessels, heavy vehicles and moving plant.
