Job summary
Qube Ports is seeking individuals for shift work at Port Kembla to load and discharge general and bulk cargoes, operate machinery, and perform shipboard and wharf duties alongside basic clerical tasks.
The role requires 24/7 availability with no set roster, a strong commitment to safety, and the ability to work autonomously in a demanding environment; pre-employment checks apply.
Qualifications
- Full manual driver’s licence required.
- High Risk License in Forklift, Dogging, Crane (highly regarded)
- Trade Qualification (highly regarded)
- Demonstrated safety behaviours and experience
- Ability to work autonomously using proactive approach to task resolution
- Ability to be flexible and adaptable to work in a demanding environment
Responsibilities
- Load and discharge general and bulk cargoes.
- Operate machinery on wharf and ships.
- Carry out basic clerical tasks.
- Handle commodities including motor vehicles, machinery, steel products, containers, project cargo and bulk cargo.

Job description
We are looking for individuals seeking shift work at Port Kembla. Specific duties for this role will include loading and discharging general and bulk cargoes, operating machinery, shipboard and wharf duties and basic clerical tasks. These operations specialise in loading and discharging general and bulk cargoes. Commodities handled include motor vehicles, machinery, steel products, containers, project cargo and bulk cargo.
The successful applicant will need to be prepared to work an irregular shift pattern with 24/7 availability and no set roster.
- Full Manual driver’s licence required
- High Risk License in Forklift, Dogging, Crane (highly regarded)
- Trade Qualification (highly regarded)
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with a variety of people
- Demonstrated safety behaviours and experience
- Ability to work autonomously using proactive approach to task resolution
- Ability to be flexible and adaptable to work in a demanding environment
