Big Chief Hire is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead the Port Augusta site, overseeing daily operations, a small local team, and customer relations. The role focuses on service delivery, equipment utilisation and profitability across the operation.

You will drive opportunities, maintain fleet availability, coordinate maintenance, and ensure compliance with safety and BCH/OEM requirements while building strong customer relationships in the Port Augusta region.

Qualifications

• Experience leading and developing a small operational team.
• Strong focus on equipment utilisation, customer service and profitability.
• Ability to build relationships with existing customers and identify new opportunities.
• Knowledge of fleet maintenance practices and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day operations of the Port Augusta site.
• Supervise the Hire Controller and Yard Hand and provide direction.
• Drive fleet utilisation and meet customer demand.
• Develop customer relationships and pursue new hire opportunities.
• Coordinate bookings, mobilisations, and returns; ensure equipment availability.
• Maintain safety and compliance, and oversee maintenance activities.
