Job summary

Virgin Active is seeking a dedicated cleaning and member-experience specialist to maintain sparkling clubs, including studios, changerooms and equipment. You will ensure safety and exceptional cleanliness, support members with queries, and contribute to a high-performing team in a dynamic health club environment.

You will bring 2+ years of cleaning/maintenance experience, a neat-freak reputation, and the ability to obtain any required certifications (First Aid, Pool Lifeguard, WWC).

Qualifications

• 2+ years of relevant cleaning/maintenance experience is preferred.
• A neat-freak reputation and attention to detail.
• First aid knowledge or certification is beneficial.
• Flexibility for non-traditional schedules and ability to obtain required certifications.

Responsibilities

• Ensure studios are sparkling before each class by cleaning equipment and wiping mirrors and floors.
• Prepare and tidy equipment in gear-up areas for members.
• Maintain spotless changerooms and bathrooms.
• Ensure safety and high standard appearance across studios and common areas.
• Advocate safety and supervise aquatic areas where applicable.
• Report issues requiring maintenance.
• Provide warm customer interactions and address member queries.

In a nutshell

This gig is all about delivering a clean, fresh and spotless club and ensuring extraordinary member satisfaction in all interactions.

A day in the life

• Ensure the studios are sparkling before each class by cleaning all equipment (bikes, boxing bags, weights etc) and wiping the mirrors and floor so they’re flawless.
• Clean and prepare the equipment required by each member in the gear‑up area (boxing gloves, cleats, etc) in line with our customer experience.
• Tidy, polish and scrub the bathroom areas to create a spotless and shiny changeroom experience for members.
• Ensure all areas and equipment are safe and clean and that the club’s appearance reflects the highest standard throughout the studios, changerooms and common areas.
• Advocate safety and ensure an overall safe environment for members and team members including the supervision of aquatics (relevant for clubs with a pool, spa and/or sauna).
• Report any issues or faults you find that require a technical fix.
• Ensure all interactions are warm, queries are answered and feedback handled effectively.
• Find ways to give that little bit extra… especially when it’s unexpected.

• You have 2+ year s of relevant experience, a neat-freak reputation, your first aid, flexibility to work a non-traditional schedule and can readily obtain a Pool Lifeguard certificate and Working with children Check (if required).
