Job description

Pool Technician | Build Technical Expertise with Palatial Pool Services
About Us

Palatial Pool Services is a Melbourne-based business specialising in residential pool servicing, maintenance, equipment installations and repairs.

We're a friendly, growing team that takes pride in doing good work, looking after our customers and keeping their pools running at their best.

We're looking for a reliable, hands‑on person to join our team as a Pool Service Technician. Whether you've worked with pools before or have experience in plumbing, maintenance or a similar trade, we'd love to hear from you!

About the Role

This is a varied, hands‑on role where you'll be involved in both regular pool servicing and equipment installations, repairs and maintenance.

You'll be working across different residential properties throughout Melbourne, with a mix of routine servicing, practical problem‑solving and installation work.

Some of your day‑to‑day responsibilities will include:

  • Cleaning and maintaining residential swimming pools, including vacuuming, brushing, skimming and general maintenance.
  • Testing pool water and carrying out chemical balancing.
  • Installing and replacing pool equipment such as pumps, filters, chlorinators and other pool systems.
  • Carrying out basic plumbing work, including pipework, fittings and valves.
  • Checking equipment, identifying issues and assisting with repairs and troubleshooting.
  • Performing routine equipment maintenance to keep systems operating efficiently.
  • Communicating with customers and providing friendly, professional service.
  • Keeping accurate records of completed work and any issues identified.

You'll have the opportunity to work with a range of equipment and pool systems, and we'll provide training and support to help you develop your skills.

About You

We're looking for someone who's practical, reliable, enjoys working outdoors and takes pride in their work.

Ideally, you'll have:

  • Experience in pool servicing, plumbing, maintenance or another hands‑on trade.
  • Confidence using tools and carrying out practical maintenance or installation work.
  • Good problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
  • A willingness to learn new skills and take on different types of work.
  • Good communication skills and a friendly approach to customers.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A valid Australian driver's (Auto / Manual) licence.
Have plumbing experience? That's a big plus!

Many of the skills used in plumbing, from working with pipes, fittings and valves to installing pumps and water systems, are directly transferable to pool servicing and equipment installations.

You don't need to come from the pool industry to be a great fit. If you have practical experience, a good attitude and a willingness to learn, we'll provide the training and support to help you get up to speed with pool systems, water chemistry and servicing.

Previous pool industry experience is definitely an advantage, but we're just as interested in finding the right person for the team.

What We Offer
  • Competitive pay based on your skills and experience.
  • Training and ongoing support to build your knowledge of pool servicing and equipment.
  • A good mix of servicing, installations and maintenance work.
  • A friendly, supportive team environment.
  • The opportunity to work independently and take ownership of your day.
  • Variety in your work, with different customers, properties and pool systems.
  • Opportunities to grow your skills as the business continues to expand.
Company Values:

We operate with a strong emphasis on honesty, transparency, and technical integrity. Clients are provided with clear explanations, accurate assessments, and practical solutions. Internally, we maintain a professional and respectful working environment with a focus on doing things correctly the first time.

If you're someone with the right mindset, strong technical instincts, and the ability to think through problems logically, we're interested in hearing from you, regardless of whether your experience comes directly from the pool industry.
