Job summary

The NSW Police Force is seeking a Policy Officer to join the Legislation and Policy Branch within the Office of the Commissioner. The role focuses on research, analysis, and development of policies relating to law enforcement to support NSWPF outcomes and government objectives.

This is a temporary full-time position based in Sydney City, offering opportunities to contribute to legislative reform and strategic policy development for public safety.

About the role

We have an opportunity for a Policy Officer to be part of our Legislation and Policy Branch within the Office of the Commissioner. Responsible for research and analysis of issues and development of policies in relation to law enforcement to assist in the achievement of the NSWPF planned outcomes and alignment with broader government objectives. The role will work within a small team on policy and legislative issues and reforms in relation to law enforcement relevant to NSWPF and delivering on Government priorities and initiatives. The role will provide timely quality advice on law enforcement policy issues and legislation.

This is a great opportunity to work on legislative reform and strategic policy relating to law enforcement and community safety in NSW. Working within a motivated and high-performing team in the Legislation and Policy Branch, you will lead and contribute to the development of evidence-based policy advice for senior NSW Police Force executives and the NSW Government, undertake research and analysis of emerging issues, and support the development of legislative reform proposals. This role is ideally suited to candidates with experience, or a strong understanding, of strategic policy development, public policy, legislation or government decision-making processes.

Total Remuneration Package: Base salary ranges from $116,981 to $129,492 plus employer's contribution to superannuation of 12% and annual leave loading.
