Job summary

The Department of Health in Western Australia is seeking a suitably experienced Policy Officer/Correspondence Coordinator to provide high-level coordination, correspondence and administrative support to SHOC Executive Director.

You will manage Directorate correspondence, draft and quality-assure briefing materials, and support governance processes to help achieve organisational objectives.

Vacancy Reference No. 747885 This is a Fixed Term Full-Time appointment commencing 30 November 2026 until 30 June 2027, with the possibility of extension(s) and/or permanency. Position Profile

We are seeking a suitably experienced and enthusiastic person to join our team at the State Health Operations Centre (SHOC) as a Policy Officer/Correspondence Coordinator. This position provides high-level coordination, correspondence and administrative support to the State Health Operations Centre (SHOC) Executive Director. The role supports the effective management of Directorate correspondence, briefing processes, governance activities and operational coordination to assist in achieving organisational objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and manage Directorate correspondence, ensuring timely, accurate and high-quality responses in line with Departmental standards and required timeframes.
  • Assist in the development, review and implementation of internal procedures, processes and governance documentation.
  • Prepare, coordinate and quality assure briefings, reports, submissions and executive documentation as required.
  • Compile and analyse information to support the preparation of correspondence, reports and briefing materials.
  • Monitor correspondence workflows and provide updates on progress, priorities and emerging issues.
