Job summary

Australasian Railway Association in Canberra seeks a Manager – Policy & Advocacy Projects to join the Policy Team and drive policy, advocacy and strategic projects for rail across Australia and New Zealand.

The role reports to the General Manager – Infrastructure Investment and Government Engagement and offers opportunities to coordinate research, policy development and stakeholder engagement across diverse priority areas, including rail investment and accessibility.

Qualifications

• At least three years’ experience in policy, government relations or related role.
• Experience translating research into clear policy materials.
• Strong research and analytical abilities; ability to synthesise complex information.

Responsibilities

• Support advocacy projects promoting rail investment opportunities across Australia and NZ.
• Undertake research and prepare evidence-based materials for submissions and stakeholder engagement.
• Draft briefing notes, fact sheets, correspondence, submissions and presentations.
• Lead accessibility policy work in rail, including stakeholder engagement and development.
• Monitor government and industry developments and prepare timely summaries.
