Job summary

The Australian’s flagship daily podcast, The Front, is seeking a skilled Producer to bring our journalism to life in video and audio. You’ll work closely with host Claire Harvey and the newsroom, with a predominantly office-based role and flexible work-from-home days as editorial requirements allow.

You will coordinate interviews, record studio and remote guests, edit polished longform video and audio, and craft social clips and scripts for owned platforms.

Qualifications

• Deep journalism experience and strong understanding of Australian and international news.
• Exceptional news judgment and storytelling flair with speed for breaking news.

Responsibilities

• Attend daily news conferences and pitch topics for each episode.
• Schedule interviews, manage recording and filming for studio and remote guests, and upload files.
• Edit longform video/audio, social clips, and promotional scripts for The Australian platforms.
• Collaborate with Editorial Director, senior editors, and legal teams to ensure content is editorially and legally sound.
• Partner with social, publishing, marketing and commercial teams to publish episodes, facilitate sponsorships and analyze cross-platform analytics.
• Assist with workflow planning, team management, and rostering.
