Job summary

News Corp Australia is seeking a seasoned producer for The Australian's flagship daily news podcast The Front. You will work with host Claire Harvey and the newsroom, shaping journalism for video and audio, in a hybrid Sydney setting.

The role requires strong news judgment, hands-on editing, and the ability to manage complex projects with tight deadlines, while collaborating across editorial, legal, social and commercial teams.

Qualifications

• Seasoned journalist with strong news storytelling.
• Experience producing for podcasts or video formats.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and handle sensitive content.

Responsibilities

• Attend daily news conferences and pitch a shortlist of potential topics for each episode.
• Schedule interviews, manage technical recording and filming for studio and remote guests, and handle all recorded file uploads.
• Edit highly polished longform video and audio, short social clips, and written promotional articles or scripts for The Australian's owned platforms.
• Collaborate with the Editorial Director, senior editors, and legal teams to ensure every story is editorially and legally sound.
• Partner with social, publishing, marketing, and commercial teams to publish episodes, facilitate sponsorships, and interpret cross-platform analytics.
• Assist with overall workflow planning, team management, and staff rostering.
