Job summary

Adecco is seeking experienced Commercial Plumbers for a long-established contractor delivering commercial and construction projects across Cairns and surrounding regions. This role offers consistent project work with strong internal support, focus on training and career advancement, and potential assistance to obtain additional tickets such as Excavator and EWP.

Ideal candidates will have QBCC or Plumber & Drainer licences, construction white card, and proven commercial plumbing experience.

Qualifications

• QBCC licence required or equivalent.
• White Card held.
• Experience in commercial plumbing or construction.
• Ability to interpret construction drawings and specs.
• Own basic plumbing hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Install sanitary, stormwater and trade waste drainage systems.
• Underground and in-ground plumbing installations.
• Hot and cold-water service installations.
• Rough-in works for commercial plumbing.
• Install fixtures, taps and appliances; connect and test systems.
• Read drawings and set out plumbing works; coordinate with builders.

The Role

Working across commercial, industrial and construction projects, you will be involved in plumbing works from initial underground services through to rough-in, fit-off, testing and project completion.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Installing sanitary, stormwater and trade waste drainage systems
• Underground and in-ground plumbing installations
• Hot and cold-water service installations
• Commercial plumbing rough-in works
• Installing sanitary pipework, supports and fixing systems
• Installing plumbing fixtures, fittings, tapware and appliances
• Completing final connections and fit-off works
• Reading and interpreting construction drawings, plans and specifications
• Setting out plumbing and drainage works
• Undertaking pressure testing and assisting with commissioning
• Identifying and reporting site or design issues
• Working alongside builders and other trades to coordinate installations
• Maintaining a clean, organised and safe work area
• Completing work in accordance with relevant Australian Standards and project requirements

About You

To be successful, you will ideally have:

• Current QBCC Occupational Plumbing Licence or Occupational Plumber & Drainer Licence
• Construction Industry White Card
• Current driver's licence and reliable transport
• Commercial plumbing or construction experience
• Experience with underground drainage and stormwater installations
• Experience completing plumbing rough-in and fit-off works
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
• Your own basic plumbing hand tools
• Strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship
• Reliable attitude and solid work ethic
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Highly Regarded

The following tickets and experience will be advantageous but are not necessarily essential, as support may be available to obtain relevant additional qualifications:

• Excavator ticket and operating experience
• EWP Licence
• Confined Space Entry
• First Aid Certificate
• Experience with laser levels and set-out equipment
• Large commercial construction project experience
