Job summary

Austal is recruiting Plumbers in Henderson for a 4-day work week, contributing to major shipbuilding programs. You will perform plumbing tasks across new builds, repairs and refits, ensuring work is completed to schedule and to high quality standards.

Based in Henderson, WA, you will work with a team on a range of shipyard projects, using your plumbing expertise and strong safety practices. This role offers professional development and opportunities within a growing organisation.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification or certificate in plumbing.
• Construction White Card required.
• Experience in new shipbuilding, repair and refit or heavy industry.

Responsibilities

• Perform plumbing (and general) tasks as directed per tasking sheet, work pack, or tickets.
• Record and analyse key measurements and data during works.
• Handle tools and equipment with care and maintenance.
• Complete tasks on time and to required quality standards.
• Identify and implement workplace improvements where possible.
• Carry out pressure testing of installed pipework.

Based in Henderson the Plumbers are responsible for completing all facets of plumbing works (including general tasks) on time, in full and to standard, while striving for continuous improvement.

What’s Involved

• Conducting plumbing (or general) tasks as directed IAW supplied tasking sheet, work pack / job tickets.
• Inspection, analysis and recording of critical measurements, data or information during the process of undertaking works
• Ownership and respect for tools and equipment
• Completing the task in full, on time to quality standards
• Identify and implement opportunities for improvement in the workplace and the task.
• Carry out pressure testing of installed pipe work

You’ll Need

• Trade Qualification, Certificate ||| Plumbing
• Construction White Card
• Demonstrated experience in new shipbuilding, repair and refit or heavy industrial
• Capable of performing work in a safe and acceptable manner
• Demonstrate adequate theoretical knowledge
• Ability to use standard tools and equipment related to the trade
• Possess good time management skills an ability to set targets
