Job summary

Austal is seeking a Waterfront Supervisor based in Darwin to drive planning and execution of Planned Maintenance and Corrective Maintenance across Depot Level Maintenance periods and Service Visits, ensuring vessels remain within Class Condition.

You will lead a team, manage resources and contractors, monitor safety, and ensure work is delivered on time and within budget while adhering to ISO standards and environmental requirements.

Qualifications

  • Relevant Engineering, Project Management, Maintenance or Trade qualification/Experience.
  • Hold a Construction safety induction (white card).
  • Project Supervision experience within the marine or maintenance industry.
  • Strong knowledge of safety management, incl. confined spaces, working at heights, energised systems, permits & JSEA.
  • Project planning, scheduling, trade & service time management & de-confliction.
  • Internal/external dispute resolution & negotiations.
  • Proven ability to lead, build, manage and foster a team-orientated environment.

  • Collaborate with program/project teams to ensure clear expectations.
  • Inspection and approval of works as necessary.
  • Apply quality procedures to meet ISO standards or project specifications.
  • Adhere to environmental and safety requirements.
  • Perform duties as assigned by line manager or ABF Program Manager.

About The Opportunity

Based in Darwin the Waterfront Supervisor will be responsible for driving performance of Planned Maintenance (PM), Corrective Maintenance (CM) across Depot Level Maintenance (DLM) periods and Service Visits (SV) periods, while maintaining vessel within Class Condition.

The role is performed in accordance with in Local and State Legislation and Austal policies and procedures. The reporting line of the position is as stated in the position holder’s employment contract.

You’ll need
Required
  • Relevant Engineering, Project Management, Maintenance or Trade qualification/Experience.
  • Hold a Construction safety induction (white card)
  • Project Supervision experience within the marine or maintenance industry.
  • A strong working knowledge and understanding of safety management practices including working in confined spaces, working at heights, working with energised systems, isolations, risk assessments, permits and Job Safety and Environment Analysis'
  • Project planning and scheduling, trade, and service time management & de- confliction.
  • Internal/external dispute resolution and negotiations.
  • Proven ability to lead, build, manage and foster a team orientated environment.
Desirable
  • Quoting/estimating experience.
  • Project planning experience.
  • Use of CMMS.
  • Trade Management and / or Leadership & Management.
