Austal, based in Cairns, is seeking a Trades Assistant to support general labouring, preparation, and cleaning tasks in a shipyard environment under supervision. The role involves confined space duties, assisting tradespeople, and helping with docking evolution while complying with HSEQ standards.

You will need a current Driver's licence, the ability to work autonomously or in a team, and at least 1 year of general labour experience.

Based in Cairns the Trades Assistant will be responsible for general labouring, preparation, and cleaning tasks within a shipyard environment as directed by immediate Leading Hand/Supervisor.

You’ll need

• Current Drivers licence.

• Demonstrate First Attack Fire Fighting Equipment.
• 1 year experience in general labouring.
• 1 year experience in Confined Space Entry Sentry and Fire Sentry.
