Job summary

The Midfield Group in Warrnambool, Victoria, is seeking a safety-focused Qualified Plumber to join our team for onsite maintenance work. You will collaborate with tradespeople to deliver high-quality plumbing installations and services, reading plans, and ensuring compliance with standards and safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Trade qualified or 4th year apprentice required.
• Solid knowledge of Plumbing Code and Australian standards.
• Gas fitting Licence is preferred but not essential.
• Strong experience in maintenance plumbing a plus.
• Right to work in Australia (38 hours/week) and Q Fever vaccination willingness required.

Responsibilities

• Setting out and installing hot and cold-water systems and associated equipment.
• Undertake storm water and sewer installations.
• Rough-In water and gas services.
• Read blueprints and drawings to determine layout and materials.
• Design and install sanitary plumbing and water supply systems.
• Install below-ground drainage, gas appliances and related fittings.
• Final fit-off with high-quality workmanship; follow SOPs and safety rules.

We have a current vacancy for a safety focused Qualified Plumber to join our team located in Warrnambool, Victoria. In this role, you will be required to work alongside a crew of like-minded tradespeople to deliver maintenance onsite.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

• Setting out and installing hot and cold-water systems and associated equipment
• Undertake Storm water, Sewer Installations
• 'Rough-In' Water and Gas services
• Studying blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine the layout of plumbing systems and materials required
• Designing and installing sanitary plumbing and water supply systems, discharge pipes and sanitary fixtures
• Assembling and installing mechanical services plant, air handling and conditioning equipment and small-bore heating systems
• Installing sewerage and effluent pumping equipment and disposal systems
• Installing below-ground drainage systems and associated ground support systems
• Installing gas appliances, flues and pressure regulating devices
• Fabricating and installing metal roofing, rainwater goods and flashings
• Penetration and inground service installations
• Final 'Fit off' and finishing installations with high quality work
• Following standard operating procedures, safety procedures and quality control methods
• Ability to read and interpret plans/drawings

Skills & Experiences

• You must be trade qualified/ 4th year apprentice
• Must have a sound knowledge of all tasks and activities related to new installations as well as a sound knowledge of the Plumbing Code and Australian standards
• Gas fitting Licence (preferred not essential)
• Strong experience in maintenance plumbing or similar role will be highly regarded
• Self-motivated, problem solver & team player
• Be punctual and reliable, well organised, tidy and efficiency
• Have strong interpersonal & communication skills
• Basic computer literacy
• You must have the right to work in Australia (38 hours/week)
• You have already had a Q Fever vaccination or are willing to participate in the vaccination process
