Job summary

The Midfield Group is seeking a safety-focused Qualified Plumber to join our Warrnambool, Victoria team. You will work with a crew of tradespeople to deliver onsite maintenance, installing water, gas, and drainage systems in line with Australian standards. Trade-qualified or 4th year apprentice with knowledge of Plumbing Code is essential.

Gas fitting licence is preferred. Expect a supportive environment with opportunities for career progression within our private, vertically integrated

Qualifications

  • Trade qualified or 4th year apprentice.
  • Sound knowledge of plumbing tasks and Plumbing Code/Australian standards.
  • Gas fitting licence (preferred but not essential).
  • Strong maintenance plumbing experience or similar role.
  • Self-motivated, problem solver and team player.
  • Punctual, reliable, well organized and efficient.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Basic computer literacy.
  • Right to work in Australia (38 hours/week).
  • Q Fever vaccination obtained or willing to participate.

Responsibilities

  • Setting out and installing hot and cold-water systems and equipment.
  • Undertake storm water and sewer installations.
  • 'Rough-In' water and gas services.
  • Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine layouts.
  • Design and install sanitary plumbing and water supply systems and fixtures.
  • Assemble and install mechanical services plant and HVAC equipment.
  • Install sewerage and effluent pumping equipment and disposal systems.
  • Install below-ground drainage systems and ground support.
  • Install gas appliances, flues and pressure regulating devices.
  • Fabricate and install roofing, rainwater goods and flashings.
  • Penetration and inground service installations.
  • Final fit-off and finishing with high quality work.
  • Follow SOPs, safety procedures and quality control methods.
  • Ability to read and interpret plans/drawings.

We have a current vacancy for a safety focused Qualified Plumber to join our team located in Warrnambool, Victoria. In this role, you will be required to work alongside a crew of like-minded tradespeople to deliver maintenance onsite.

Main Duties & Responsibilities
  • Setting out and installing hot and cold-water systems and associated equipment
  • Undertake Storm water, Sewer Installations
  • 'Rough-In' Water and Gas services
  • Studying blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine the layout of plumbing systems and materials required
  • Designing and installing sanitary plumbing and water supply systems, discharge pipes and sanitary fixtures
  • Assembling and installing mechanical services plant, air handling and conditioning equipment and small-bore heating systems
  • Installing sewerage and effluent pumping equipment and disposal systems
  • Installing below-ground drainage systems and associated ground support systems
  • Installing gas appliances, flues and pressure regulating devices
  • Fabricating and installing metal roofing, rainwater goods and flashings
  • Penetration and inground service installations
  • Final 'Fit off' and finishing installations with high quality work
  • Following standard operating procedures, safety procedures and quality control methods
  • Ability to read and interpret plans/drawings
Skills & Experiences
  • You must be trade qualified/ 4th year apprentice
  • Must have a sound knowledge of all tasks and activities related to new installations as well as a sound knowledge of the Plumbing Code and Australian standards
  • Gas fitting Licence (preferred not essential)
  • Strong experience in maintenance plumbing or similar role will be highly regarded
  • Self-motivated, problem solver & team player
  • Be punctual and reliable, well organised, tidy and efficiency
  • Have strong interpersonal & communication skills
  • Basic computer literacy
  • You must have the right to work in Australia (38 hours/week)
  • You have already had a Q Fever vaccination or are willing to participate in the vaccination process
