Job summary
Primo Foods in Wacol, Queensland, is seeking an Automation Specialist to provide advanced automation engineering and technical support across the site. You will help manage PLC and SCADA systems to improve reliability and performance, and work with Engineering, Operations, Maintenance and others to drive efficiency.
The role requires a Bachelor’s in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent), hands-on automation experience in industrial settings, strong PLC programming and SAP
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
- Experience in automation engineering and PLC/SCADA maintenance in industrial/manufacturing settings.
- Strong PLC programming and SCADA knowledge; SAP exposure is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical support and maintenance for PLC and SCADA systems across the site.
- Investigate downtime root causes and develop engineering solutions to improve performance.
- Respond to programming breakdowns and urgent automation issues.
- Plan, execute, and close automation tasks and projects on time and within budget.
- Coordinate with the Maintenance Planner for work orders and inspection requirements.
- Maintain PLC documentation and control system schematics.
- Develop specifications for new control processes and automate improvements.
- Manage automation projects from implementation to completion.
- Design, install, program, commission and fault-find control systems.
- Administer and maintain SCADA databases, displays, backups, incidents, and user access.
