Job summary

Primo Foods is seeking an Automation Specialist to provide advanced automation engineering and technical support across our Wacol site. You will oversee PLC/SCADA systems, troubleshooting, and improve automation performance to enhance site reliability.

Working with Engineering, Operations and Maintenance, you will drive efficiency, manage projects from planning through completion, and maintain control documentation and specifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a relevant engineering field.
• Experience in automation engineering, PLC/SCADA support and maintenance in industrial environments.
• Strong knowledge of PLC programming and SCADA systems.
• Experience with project management and SAP exposure.

Responsibilities

• Provide PLC/SCADA technical support, troubleshooting, and maintenance on site.
• Investigate downtime causes and develop engineering improvements.
• Respond to programming breakdowns and urgent automation issues.
• Plan and close out automation tasks and projects on time and budget.
• Coordinate work orders and inspect requirements with Maintenance Planner.
• Maintain PLC documentation, schematics, and manuals.
• Develop specifications for new control processes and improvements.
• Manage automation projects from start to finish.
• Design, install, program, commission, and fault-find control systems.
• Administer SCADA systems including databases, alarms and access control.
