Job summary

Bouygues Construction Australia seeks a PLC Supervisor to oversee installation, testing, commissioning and optimisation of PLC and industrial control systems on the T2D project in Adelaide. You will lead site automation activities, manage subcontractors, and ensure safety and quality standards are met throughout commissioning and handover.

The role requires a trade or engineering qualification in Electrical/Automation, and hands-on experience with major PLC platforms.

Qualifications

Trade or Engineering qualification in Electrical, Automation, Mechatronics, or related discipline.
Experience supervising PLC/automation works on construction, infra, industrial, or manufacturing projects.
Ability to interpret electrical drawings, control schematics, and functional descriptions.
Experience with major PLC platforms (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Schneider, ABB).

Responsibilities

Lead and supervise PLC technicians, electricians, and automation subcontractors on site.
Coordinate daily automation activities with construction and commissioning schedules.
Provide technical guidance and mentoring to site personnel.
Drive a strong safety culture aligned with project requirements.
Oversee installation, configuration, and commissioning of PLC systems and networks.
Ensure PLC programming matches functional descriptions and client requirements.
Support integration between PLC, SCADA, HMI, instrumentation, and field devices.
Review control system documentation such as I/O lists and FAT/SAT procedures.
Plan and execute PLC testing, loop checks, and system commissioning.
Coordinate FAT and SAT activities and close-out.
