Job summary

Firmus Technologies is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the Platform Engineering and Observability team. You will own people, delivery, and the platform software powering the Firmus AI Cloud, from bare-metal GPU compute to observability services.

You will scale the team, shape engineering culture, and drive reliability, performance, and developer experience while delivering on the roadmap across multiple squads.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related technical field.
• 4+ years managing engineers, with direct ownership of hiring, growth, and performance for a team of at least 8 engineers.
• Track record delivering complex infrastructure or platform at scale.

Responsibilities

• Be the Single-Threaded Owner (STO) for multiple squads; hire engineers and coach performance.
• Own end-to-end delivery; translate product roadmap into sequenced delivery and manage cross-squad dependencies.
• Set engineering quality bar; drive build/buy/open source decisions and champion AI-assisted development.
• Own reliability, security, and cost; set SLOs, on-call, incident management, and runbooks; ensure SOC 2/ISO controls alignment.
• Represent team to CTO; align with product and architects; ensure platform ships and runs as one system.
