Job summary

SA Power Networks is seeking a skilled Platform Engineer to join our Enterprise Applications team in Digital and Technology. Based in Adelaide, you will oversee SAP services governance, reliability, and lifecycle management across on-premises and cloud environments.

The role focuses on modern SAP platforms, including SAP BTP, with responsibilities spanning provisioning, security, cost optimisation, and platform strategy support. A strong background in SAP BASIS and BTP is essential.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Information Technology or related discipline.
  • SAP BASIS or SAP BTP administration certification
  • Experience in SAP BASIS administration, including support, configuration and operational management.
  • Working knowledge of SAP S/4HANA, SAP BTP, Cloud Identity Services, Cloud ALM and SAP license management.
  • Hands-on experience with SAP integration, upgrades, transport tools, SAP security concepts, Web Dispatcher, Cloud Connector, SSL-based interfaces and certificate management.
  • Experience with platform governance, standards, security, and lifecycle management
  • Ability to understand the business context and provide clear, balanced direction that supports effective decision‑making and best platform practices.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to build effective partnerships with project and delivery teams to provision and maintain environments.
  • A mindset focused on reliability, automation, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
  • Demonstrated agility and adaptability to support shifting priorities and needs.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities, demonstrating initiative to develop innovative solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administration and governance for modern SAP services (e.g., SAP BTP, Cloud Identity Services, Cloud ALM), enabling secure and scalable adoption.
  • Monitor and contribute towards cost efficiency initiatives across infrastructure, licensing, and platform usage, ensuring optimal utilization of SAP entitlements.

About the role

SA Power Networks are seeking to appoint a skilled and experienced Platform Engineer to join its Enterprise Applications team in Digital and Technology on a permanent basis.

Based in Adelaide, the Platform Engineer plays a key part in supporting stability, governance and ongoing improvement of SA Power Networks’ SAP landscape, helping to enable and secure reliable and modern platform services across our on-premises and cloud environments.

The Platform Engineer will work seamlessly to provide operational oversight, enforce best practices, and drive platform strategy across SAP environments. It will support delivery teams by ensuring effective provisioning and lifecycle management and by enabling the use of modern platform capabilities, including SAP BTP. Other responsibilities:

  • Provide administration and governance for modern SAP services (e.g., SAP BTP, Cloud Identity Services, Cloud ALM), enabling secure and scalable adoption.

About you

An experienced SAP Platform/Basis Engineer with strong SAP BTP exposure, cloud and hybrid environment experience, and a track record of driving governance, reliability, automation and continuous improvement across enterprise SAP landscapes.
