Job summary

Chubb in Sydney is seeking a dynamic leader to manage an underwriting team within our Central Services Cyber & Tech IP division. You will champion service excellence, coach brokers, and drive the team to achieve financial objectives.

Responsibilities include overseeing staff management, performance reviews, portfolio performance, pricing, and adherence to guidelines, while building a high-performing team and delivering strong GWP and retention outcomes.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in insurance, cyber or technology package products.
• Strong leadership with the ability to coach and develop a team.
• Excellent communication with internal and external stakeholders.
• Proven project management and organisational skills.
• Experience delivering process improvements and performance metrics.

About The Role

We’re looking for a dynamic leader to manage an underwriting team, champion service excellence and support the delivery of the team’s financial objectives.

In This Role, You Will

Manage and oversee the Chubb Central Services Cyber & Tech IP team:

Sales and Service

• Shape and deliver a strong sales and service approach that creates a high-quality broker experience, while coaching and supporting the team to meet service standards, SLAs and NPS targets.
• Proactively engage with brokers and key stakeholders, providing updates, resolving issues and identifying training needs to lift performance.

Staff Management

• Lead all aspects of team management, including goal setting, performance reviews, one-on-ones, workflow planning, compensation reviews and compliance requirements.
• Build a high-performing team by recruiting, motivating, developing and retaining quality underwriters.
• Drive platform and portfolio performance by improving user experience, referral handling, automation, onboarding, pricing and appetite settings.
• Oversee partner platforms, binder agreements and broker MOUs, while ensuring underwriting decisions align with strategy, authority levels and guidelines.
• Monitor portfolio performance, identify opportunities and support Product Managers with analysis, reporting and projects.
• Deliver team financial targets, including GWP, retention, rate and loss ratio, while identifying and executing cross-sell opportunities

What you’ll bring to the role

• Project management and organisational skills
• Process orientated, an organiser with strong planning ability and attention to detail
• Strong Emotional Intelligence (EQ) and ability to network across stakeholders to get things done
• Excellent communication skills – written and verbal to internal and external stakeholders
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
• 5 years + insurance experience in cyber & technology package products
• Demonstrate flexible and innovative ways of working, with creative and lateral thinking
• Experience supporting. delivering process improvement initiatives
• Previous experience leading diverse teams
