Job summary

Orro Group is seeking a Cyber Security Engineer, Platform to operate and secure Linux platforms behind our customer services. You will work across hundreds of Linux servers, with automation focus, alongside senior engineers.

This role is ideal for someone early in their career, with on‑the‑job training in Ansible, security engineering and platform architecture. You will join a collaborative, customer‑obsessed team delivering secure digital solutions across cloud, data and networking.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years in Linux or systems administration with exposure to cyber security platforms such as logging, vulnerability management, EDR or SIEM
• Foundational Linux administration across the command line, users and permissions, packages, services, filesystems, processes, logs and patching
• Basic Ansible experience with YAML, inventories, playbooks and roles, plus comfort using Git for changes
• Working knowledge of networking fundamentals and troubleshooting DNS, ports, routes, firewalls and VPN connections
• Strong customer facing communication, including clear written updates and confident technical conversations

Responsibilities

• Administer and support Linux servers across a large distributed fleet, covering user access, services, packages, storage, patching and routine maintenance
• Monitor platform health and investigate issues using logs, system tools and a structured troubleshooting approach
• Build on and improve Ansible playbooks, roles and inventories to automate configuration, patching and repeatable operational work
• Diagnose connectivity across TCP/IP, DNS, routing, firewalls, proxies and VPNs
• Support deployment, configuration and lifecycle management of cyber security platforms and the infrastructure beneath them, including hardening, vulnerability remediation and certificate renewal
• Work with customers and internal teams to explain technical issues, provide progress updates, coordinate changes and keep documentation current
