Job summary

Programmed Skilled Workforce is currently seeking an experienced Plant Operator in Jindera, NSW. The role supports road construction crews, operates council plant and equipment, conducts daily checks, and helps with signage and traffic management.

You will need a White Card, an HR driver's licence, and a solid commitment to safety. This hands-on outdoor role involves variable weather, physical work and teamwork across multiple sites within the Council area.

Qualifications

• Current WorkCover Construction Industry Induction Card (White Card).
• Current HR Driver Licence.
• Demonstrated understanding of workplace health and safety requirements.
• Ability to follow work instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
• A basic understanding of road construction plant and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operating Council plant and equipment as directed across various projects.

About the Role

Reporting to the Road Construction Ganger, your responsibilities will include:

• Operating Council plant and equipment as directed across various projects.
• Assisting with the construction and maintenance of roads, pavements and Council infrastructure.
• Completing daily plant inspections, servicing and routine maintenance in accordance with manufacturer requirements and Council procedures.
• Operating plant and equipment safely and in accordance with relevant statutory requirements.
• Assisting with traffic control and maintaining safe traffic flow around work sites.
• Installing signage and roadside furniture where required.
• Completing daily plant checks, timesheets and other required documentation.
• Undertaking other duties and training as directed.

To be considered for this position, you will require:

Desirable Skills and Experience

Experience in road construction, road maintenance, operating plant and equipment, and working around live traffic environments will also be highly regarded.

This is a hands-on outdoor role that may involve working in a range of weather conditions and environments. The role includes regular physical activity, operating machinery and equipment, and working across various sites within the Council area.
