Job summary

Ku-ring-gai Council is seeking a Plant Operator - Depot to support essential depot operations. You will operate a front-end loader, assist with waste management, material handling and general depot maintenance in a busy council facility.

The role requires licences for front-end loader, MR and forklift, plus White/Blue Cards, confined spaces certification and chemical handling qualifications. A minimum of five years’ heavy plant experience is expected. 38 hours per week with a 9-day fortnight.

Qualifications

• Front-end loader operation across depot tasks.
• Experience driving heavy plant equipment in depot settings.
• Safe material handling and waste management.
• Accurate record-keeping for deliveries, dispatches and waste.
• Maintenance of depot grounds, equipment and storage areas.
• Compliance with WHS requirements and risk controls.
• Ability to identify hazards and report environmental risks.

Responsibilities

• Operate front-end loader for material handling and depot maintenance.
• Load/unload trucks and coordinate deliveries to material bays.
• Monitor and sort waste to prevent contamination and support recycling.
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries, dispatches and waste.
• Inspect depot grounds, buildings, gardens, car parks and storage areas.
• Keep drainage pits and drains clear and report defects.
• Maintain plant/equipment and report faults.
• Assist with depot housekeeping and safety procedures.
