Job summary

Big Chief Hire in Ormeau is seeking a hands-on technician to service and repair earthmoving and heavy machinery across client sites in Queensland. You will travel to sites to diagnose faults, perform repairs, and ensure safety and operational standards are met.

The role requires a Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology or similar, 1–3+ years of field service experience, and a valid HR or higher licence preferred.

• Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology, Plant & Machinery or similar qualification.
• 1–3+ years of hands-on experience with heavy machinery or field service work.
• Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.
• Valid driver’s licence (HR licence or higher preferred).
• Ability to work independently, travel to sites, and thrive in a field-based environment.
• Safety-first mindset with commitment to OH&S compliance.

• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults in the field.

• Work independently while supporting the Big Chief team.
• Work professionally with our client ensuring they receive professional service delivery at all times.
