Job summary

Northeast Auto Group in Adelaide is seeking a skilled Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic to join a collaborative workshop environment. You will diagnose, repair and service trucks, buses and heavy machinery, mentor apprentices, and contribute to safe, reliable results with modern equipment.

Eligible candidates will have a heavy diesel mechanic trade qualification and extensive industry experience, with a valid driver’s licence (HR licence advantageous) and strong parts planning abilities.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification in heavy diesel/motor mechanics (dual trade advantageous).
• Extensive industry experience.
• Proven ability in diagnosis and repair of heavy vehicles.
• Ability to identify specific parts or components.
• Driver’s licence (HR licence advantageous).

Responsibilities

• Analyze and diagnose mechanical problems.
• Repair and service trucks, buses and heavy machinery per Job Cards.
• Plan jobs and order required parts.
• Complete paperwork for work performed.
• Mentor apprentices and assist with their development.
• Maintain a strong safety focus in the workshop.

About the role

• Analysing and diagnosing mechanical problems
• Repairing and servicing trucks, buses and other heavy machinery in line with Job Cards
• The planning of jobs and ordering the required parts
• Completion of all paperwork regarding work performed
• Mentoring apprentices and assisting with their development
• Maintaining a commitment to safety in the workplace

About you

• Trade qualification in heavy diesel/motor mechanics (dual trade advantageous)
• Extensive industry experience
• Proven ability in technical diagnosis and repair a range of machinery and heavy vehicles
• Ability to identify specific parts or components
• Driver’s licence (plus HR Licence advantageous)
