Job summary

Able Hire is seeking a skilled General Mechanic to service, maintain and repair a wide range of equipment, trailers, and small-power tools in a local workshop. The role can be full-time, part-time or casual to suit the applicant’s needs; work hours and conditions are flexible to match experience.

You’ll diagnose faults, perform servicing, keep records, and support breakdowns in the field when required. Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a mechanic (heavy vehicle, plant, or general).
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults.
• Conduct regular servicing and preventative maintenance.
• Maintain accurate service and inspection records.
• Work independently and as part of a team.
• Assist with breakdowns and field repairs when required.
• Maintain a clean, organised and well-stocked workshop.
